The hotel is located halfway up the mountain beside Lake Windermere, with a view of the lake. The whole villa is very beautiful and the service is very good. The room was heated and not very cold. It is worth staying a few more days next time.

The hotel is good overall, but the lawn outside is not as big as in the picture. It takes 20 minutes to walk down the mountain from the hotel. Bowness town is at the bottom of the mountain, and you can take a boat. It is better to take a taxi back at night. Once, there was no street light on the second half of the way back, and I felt the "dark night". The names of the hotel rooms are named after the towns in the lake area, which is quite interesting. The hotel includes breakfast (Ctrip shows that it does not, but it is actually included in the local area), and the dinner I ordered later was also delicious and exquisite.

Amazing experience and customer service from the get-go. Ashley and the team were so welcoming and accommodating, and the house and grounds are simply stunning. A real treat at the end of our road trip :)

I stayed at Lindeth Fell Hotel with high expectations, drawn in by its multiple awards, glowing reviews, and promise of a peaceful, luxurious retreat. While there are certainly some standout positives - including breathtaking views, a quiet setting, and an undeniably charming house, the experience fell short in several key areas, leaving me disappointed overall. Pros: * The location is stunning, with panoramic views across Windermere and beautifully maintained gardens. * The property has clearly received numerous accolades over the years. * It’s peaceful, making it a good choice if you're looking for a quiet retreat. Cons: Unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite match the glossy image: * Room Comfort: While my room was large, the bathroom was inexplicably tiny. Sharing would have been awkward. The toilet was coming away from the wall, and there was visible damp damage and stained wallpaper around the window. The carpet also had stains — not what you'd expect from a hotel of this calibre. * Bed Disappointment: The “superior room” advertised a huge bed — in reality, it was two singles pushed together without a mattress topper, which meant a ridge down the middle and no benefit of extra comfort. Honestly, I’d have been better off booking a single. * Cost-Cutting Evident: It feels like the hotel is quietly implementing cost-saving measures. My room had one towel, one cup, one cookie — thoughtful touches cut back to the bare minimum.
Breakfast, while served at the table, was limited to one small cold and hot option, with no continental buffet as you’d find in most comparable boutique hotels. The hot portions were particularly small * Service Experience: The staff were pleasant enough, but distracted — simple requests felt like an inconvenience. I raised my concerns with management during my stay, but the issues were merely jotted down on a piece of paper, with no real sense that they would be addressed.
I also had a £12 drink charged to my room — and given the litany of issues, I was surprised that no gesture of goodwill (even a token one) was offered. Overall Impression: This hotel seems more suited to a more traditional. That’s fine — but if you advertise as a multi-award-winning boutique hotel, guest expectations will naturally be higher. Sadly, Lindeth Fell didn’t deliver the warm, polished experience I was hoping for.

We first stayed at Lindeth Fell over 25 years ago and were extremely well looked after by the Kennedy family. We visited regularly until they stopped doing evening meals. When we discovered it was under new management and evening meals were being served, we decided to give it a try and were very pleased with our decision. The interior has been updated with tasteful refurbishment and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The gardens have also been greatly improved, but what has happened to the fish in the pond? Although not a wide choice on the menu as yet, we found all meals to be to our liking and well cooked and served. The wines are also very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble . We had a wonderful stay and were able to sit out on the terrace overlooking Windermere for drinks, which was the perfect end to the day.It brought back many happy memories and we have already rebooked. .

We first visited here 20 years ago with our family, we then stayed regularly every year. We enjoyed seeing how this beautiful family run hotel improved on each occasion with regards to interior design. The hospitality & friendliness was always exemplary. You can't fault the grounds & gardens, and the views are beautiful. Lindeth Fell has unfortunately become a soulless bland hotel. The spark has been blown out, as has the attention to detail. The Kennedys were Lindeth Fell, the halcyon days are now a lovely happy memory.
